Not just for presents any more, bows are making their way into the fashion world and should be arriving in your wardrobe shortly. Taken from the necks of men and the dress backs of women, bows are popping up everywhere. They are adorable, classic, whimsical, cute, and everything in between. Let’s talk about a way to tie a  few (get it, tie? like tie a bow? lol) into your wardrobe- not including with you do with your tennis shoes laces.

Here are some of my favorite items with bows…

Christian-Louboutin-shoes-bowClassic! I love this shoe by Christain Louboutin. Check out Bruno Frisono’s bow sandle below. At a pricy $1,095, I hope someone is giving you this as a present.

Check out these, there from an old Valentino spring collection (2008) but they are still fun and trendy.

Stockings…

LOL okay okay minus the stripper shoes I like these stockings, they are very playful.

Ok lets continue up to skirts. This Twenty8Twelve Matisse Skirt ($260) is very sheek, the color is neutral so it’s easy to match it with something.

This Pleated Skirt With Bow ($69) is chic, and everyone loves a mini.

It’s my present to you! lol.

I was killing time on Nordstrom’s website and saw SOOOO many chic and unique jackets and blazers! Check out some of my favorites below.

So put on a coat! No, not just any coat. Please don’t tell me you’re sporting the Alaska puff coat just yet! It’s still fall! For autum’s sake! Put on a pea coat. Check out these below.

First one is from The Gap. It’s military inspired, and tweed!

gp498779-01vliv01It’s not so evident in the store, but you can get more than panties from Victoria’s Secret.

This amazingly stunning pea coat with button detail down the back is on my wish list!

This next one from Guess is a favorite of mine because number one it’s purple! And number two, look at the detailing at the bottom, quite different.

This last one is a baby doll pea coat from Michael Kors.

What a better combination of luxury and affordability? Tamara Mellon, founder and president of Jimmy Choo, has been giving us sexy shoes and bags for over ten years.

Now she’s teamed up with H&M to provide us with a chic, trendy and edgy line of accesories and clothing.

“We really wanted to give people the DNA of Jimmy Choo,” stated Mellon. The collection hits H&M November 14. H&M announced on their website that they are expecting a crowd. Check out some of my favorite pieces below.

Sometimes you get tired of the basic pump or stale platform. I stumbled across this shoe designer and found her footwear to be delicious. Enjoy.

It’s about time this accessory got vamped up. Free yourself from simple chains and boring beads. Have something fabulous hanging from your neck.

Big, bold, striking and embellished, fashion statement necklaces are a must have for this fall/winter, and are the best way to “one-up” an otherwise simple ensemble.

Necklaces no longer need to be chained in. Trade in your metal clasp for a silk ribbon. Check out this ribbon necklace from Diva, everything is better with a bow! It’s only $26

Even better, take out most of the hardware all together. Who said a neckace can’t be composed of fabrics. This La Via 18 Chiffon necklace is adorable and classic.

Now, another option for bigger than big necklaces is sort of like a collage of different pieces all connected. These bulky necklaces have a lot going on. See a few of my favorites below.

This one is from Juicy Couture.

This last one, from Banana Republic combines several different beads and chains to create a elegant look.

Sooo, wanting an update on my life happenings? Well, I parted ways with my full-time job and are going to spend the next two weeks preparing for my move!

Everything in my DC apartment (minus the sofa bed and telly) have been sold via craigslist. The last thing I need to sell is my car, I plan to knock that out at carmax.

I spent today at Walmart and Target getting things for my new home. I don’t want to invest in a mattress just yet, so I purchased an airbed. Also, one thing I noticed about NYC apartments is that they don’t have closets! So I brought some nifty storage units and a portable wheely closet thingy. Everything was pretty inexpensive, which is how I want to keep it until I find a quickie part time job for the holiday season.

Other than that, I’m just super excited for the move! Things have been falling into place so perfectly so I believe it will continue in that fashion. I can’t wait to get to the city!

I have to tell you about my Exit Strategy NYC application on my blackberry curve. It helped me navigate the subway like I was a native, shoot people were asking me for directions. It even tells you where to stand on the train so you can be by your exit. I also used Hop Stop, it lets you put in an address if you don’t know what station your supposed to get in at.

Okay, that’s all for now. I say bear with me because I am waiting on my new laptop to come, it’s equipped with all the fixins, even a web cam! Wouldn’t you love to see a video of me?? lol, k bye :)

Soooo how long have I been ranting and raving about moving to New York? I’m going to say since July. I know because in July I got a bottle of my favorite champagne and promised myself I wouldn’t drink it until I got an apartment in New York. This weekend I’m drinking the whole thing! No sharing!!

Monica and I made appointments all week to look at apartments. We even found ourselves a realtor, just incase craigslist failed. Saturday morning, it was pouring down rain. We missed our 5:15 bus to New York and ended up catching the 6 am. Monica was sick, and I was tired. When we got in the city, we headed to the Starbucks for coffee and yogurt. I called our first appointment, a guy named Jeff, he told us to meet him at the first apartment in Flatbush (I picked this one, I didn’t know it was Flatbush).

I got on Hop Stop on my phone for the train route, then plugged it into my new blackberry application, Exit Strategy NYC (it even tells you where to stand on the train so you can be right by your exit).

Thirty minutes later we were in Flatbush, and were loving the apartment. BUT, Monica’s big concern is safety, and she wasn’t feeling the area. I wasn’t either. There was a sign on the wall that read “Whoever stole my bed from the hallway, please return it. That’s my grandmother’s bed.” Now, I don’t want to live in an area where they steal beds from gram gram.

We asked Jeff to show us some apartments in Sunset Park or Park Slope. He was worried about our price range of $1300, we wouldn’t be able to afford anything. We went to several more apartments, then, we saw the one we wanted. First floor, two bedroom, exposed brick wall! But…$1450. Damn. Monica and I humbly submitted our offer of $1300 and prayed. The compromise…$1375, utilities included! Okay, we’ll take it!! We put down a deposit and are set to move in on November 8. We’re 2 blocks from the train, and about 30 minutes from the city.

We couldn’t believe we found one so quick, in a nice neighborhood and around our price range! Here are a few pictures I snapped with my phone.

These items are awesome and so chic! I’m beyond excited to wear them, and you should come see me in them! It’s bound to be an artfully fashionable night.

If you’re metro accessible, you’re halfway there! The Gallery Neptune is only about 3 blocks from the Bethesda metro. If you’re driving, you can always park for free at the Giant grocery store on Arlington Rd, then walk a bit and come on over. Okay, see YOU there!
